New Access to Information Law passed by Vietnamese National Assembly

On April 6, the Vietnamese National Assembly voted in a new Access to Information Law. An official translation of the law is not yet available, but we have added a link to an unofficial translation on our Laws page.

The law must still be signed by the Vietnamese President, and is expected to enter into effect in July 2018.

The Center for Law and Democracy provided an analysis of the draft law in November, 2015, before it was passed.
